Frequently Asked Questions

What is a CSA?

  • CSA stands for Community Shared Agriculture. A CSA can be thought of as a membership or subscription to the products we have to offer. It allows you to be directly involved with the farmers who grow your food. The words ‘out of stock’ or ‘unavailable’ have no meaning in a CSA share. You have reserved your share ahead of time, guaranteeing you’ll receive your product.

  • With a CSA share, you’ll pick up your monthly share from us, at the farm. No need for the grocery store.

How will pick-up work? What if I don't pick up my share?

  • Monthly pick-up of your CSA share is scheduled for the first week of every month. Your farmer will hand pick, and have ready, your monthly share. All you must do is come to the farm at the allotted time with a reusable bag. Purchase a PVF grocery tote or insulated tote bag, the perfect size for a monthly share pickup, by clicking here.

  • The specific pickup date and time will be sent by email, a week in advance.

  • If monthly pickups aren’t your thing, you may take your entire share at any time.

  • We recognize that life happens. If you can’t pickup your share, please let us know and we will arrange an alternate time or hold your share until the next pickup date, within reason.

  • If 3 months pass without pickups, your back share as well as any remaining share may be forfeited to PVF without a refund. Three (3) reasonable attempts will be made to contact you before forfeiture without refund.

Are there any other additional fees associated with a CSA? Other Information?

  • There are no additional fees for CSA shares that are picked up on time.

  • If you miss 2 schedule pickups, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of $10 per week.

  • We love what we do and enjoy interacting with our customers on pick up day. Our set pick up hours allow you and us to schedule our day accordingly. Like any other business, our set hours for pick-ups are firm. If you cannot pick up your food within the set time, please contact us to reschedule.

What are the benfits of a CSA? When should we place our order?

  • You are an active participant in your food supply and your food is reserved ahead of time. By partnering with us, you are supporting holistic farming practices that are better for our animals and our planet.

  • You don’t need to store large amounts of meat in your own freezer. We store the meat here, for you to pick up monthly.

  • CSA shares realize an average savings of 5% over buying individual retail cuts.

  • You should place your order as early in the season as possible (before June is best), keeping in mind that we raise only enough animals to satisfy our CSA customer shares. If you order too late, we will be sold out until the following year.

  • We ask that CSA orders be placed by June 1st, 2021, and we will continue to sell until Sold Out.

How do I order and pay for my CSA? When will it be ready?

  • Orders can be placed right here, at our Online Store, regardless of what payment method you prefer. If paying by Cash or Check, your share is not considered reserved until payment has been received. If online ordering isn’t your thing, simply contact us and we’ll help you place your reservation and arrange for payment.

  • If you would like to pay with Cash or Check, please choose “Manual Payment” at check out and we will send you information on where to mail or drop off your payment.

Which CSA Share is Right for Me?
